Steve Burton is saying goodbye to Days of Our Lives

Salem says so long to Steve Burton.

The previous one General Hospital Star who participated Days of our lives announced in early 2023 that he would be leaving Peacock Sudser. He played Harris Michaels, a role he played in 1988’s Days. He also reprized the role in the spin-off of the Peacock Original series. Days of Our Lives: Beyond Salem.

“Well, I just filmed my last scenes here Days of our lives” he said in a recent video on Daily Drama. “I want to thank the cast a lot [and] to the crew. Everyone. It was great.”

“I can’t believe it’s been a year!” he said. “Many thanks to the supporters. I am always so full of gratitude. Thank you so much!”

Burton urged fans to “stay tuned” for what’s to come.

General Hospital Fans still rue the day Burton left GH in 2021 over its refusal to comply with manufacturers’ Covid vaccine mandate. He played Jason Morgan. “Look, the circumstances [of his GH departure] It was hard, and you know, it just is,” Burton told Deadline in July. “I will always be grateful for my time there. It was my family for so long. I grew up there and the fans were always huge for me.“

“That was my belief and I stuck to it and I knew it would be like that,” Burton continued. “I knew some people would be okay with it and some people wouldn’t. It’s a personal decision and I had to do it. GH was a big part of my life and I am so grateful for the opportunity and the people there. I just don’t have anything bad to say. It was a handshake: “Hey, it’s not working for you. It’s not working for me.” Right. Impressive. That was it. And that’s okay. Life is all about perspective, right? It just depends on how you handle it. We all have a choice in how we handle things. You can get angry and upset and people can talk bad and go down the wrong path, and it won’t help anyone. I’m really grateful and I’m working on it.”
