Tournament of Roses: Preview of the floats decorated with flowers before the New Year’s parade

The Rose Parade features floats decorated with flowers with the theme “Celebrating a World of Music: The Universal Language.”

Volunteers assembled the floats before the live parade, which will take place on Monday, January 1 at 8:00 am. PT / 11:00 a.m. ET will take place.

Audra McDonald was chosen as the 2024 Grand Marshal by the Pasadena Tournament of Roses as an embodiment of this year’s theme.

Participants participating in this year’s parade include the American Armenian Rose Float Association, Cal Poly Universities, City of Burbank, City of Hope, City of South Pasadena, Coding for Veterans, DirecTV, Explore Louisiana, Honda, Kaiser Permanente, Kindness is made free possible by Boys & Girls Clubs, La Cañada Flintridge, Odd Fellows & Rebekahs, Pasadena Humane (Hill’s Pet Nutrition), and the San Diego Zoo.

Other participants include Shrines Children’s, The UPS Store, Trader Joe’s, Visit Lauderdale, Visit Newport Beach and Western Asset.

The City of Hope float is titled “A Beautiful Day for Hope” and will feature eight cancer survivors with their doctors. Atlanta resident Sonia Ray will appear on the float after her battle with breast cancer.

Built by Phoenix Decorating Company, the wagon design is 50 feet long and nearly 20 feet high. The float features a colorful, flower-covered carousel that represents the cyclical nature of life and the forward momentum that symbolizes City of Hope’s development and growth as it expands its operations. supportive cancer treatment.

City of Hope floats for the Rose Parade

The City of Newport Beach will appear in the Rose Parade with a 160-foot long float titled “Jingle on the Waves.” The five interconnected floats pay homage to the Newport Beach Christmas Boat Parade with icons such as the Fun Zone Ferris Wheel and Balboa Pavilion, topped by a beautiful 20-foot Christmas tree. In addition, five former Rose Queens of Newport Beach will grace the float.
