Gypsy Rose Blanchard has been released from prison for the murder that spawned Hulu’s “The Act.”

Gypsy Rose Blanchard, who made national news and became the subject of the 2019 Hulu limited series The act convicted of her role in her mother’s murder after suffering years of emotional and physical abuse, was released from prison on Thursday.

Blanchard, now 32, has served seven years of a 10-year sentence in a Missouri state prison after pleading guilty to manslaughter for helping kill her mother, Clauddine “Dee Dee” Blanchard, who had her daughter for years abused, to kill. by convincing her that she was ill when she was not.

Gypsy and her then-boyfriend Nicholas Godejohn stabbed Dee Dee to death in June 2015. Godejohn is serving a life sentence.
