Ken Jennings shares his thoughts on Mayim Bialik’s departure as host of Danger!. The two shared hosting duties for the syndicated show and the specials.
Jennings will now take over as sole host of the syndicated game show after Bialik announced on December 15 that she would not be returning.
“It surprised me because I loved working with my Mayim and I’m going to miss her,” Jennings told The Hollywood Reporter in an interview published Tuesday. “I can’t speak to their decision-making process or their views on it. But I’m just a fan of it Danger! and I’m always happy to host when they call me. I feel very lucky to even be considered for this job outside of broadcasting.”
Bialik previously announced her departure on Instagram.
“When the Hollywood vacation starts, I’m in danger! News. Sony informed me that I would like to watch the syndicated version of Jeopardy! can’t watch anymore. I am truly honored to be nominated for a Primetime Emmy for this year’s presentation and am very grateful for the opportunity to be a part of Jeopardy! to be Family. Thank you to everyone who has supported me on this incredible journey and to the fans, contestants, writers, staff and team at America’s Favorite Quiz Show.”
In July 2022, it was announced that Jennings and Bialik would split hosting duties Danger!. In the midst of the two Hollywood attacks, Jennings stepped in as this season’s host Famous Jeopardy! which started in September.
Deadline announced in May that Bialik was leaving as host of the final week of the game show’s 39th season due to the SAG-AFTRA strike.
