Over the years, Dwayne Johnson has channeled an embarrassing photo of himself from the ’90s for little fun and a lot of publicity.
He originally posted the image on Facebook in 2014 with the caption: “Bum bag and lean take it to a whole other level.”
In 2016, Johnson posted an illustration of his character from Moana rocking the look, writing: “When MAUI (my character from #MOANA) decides he’s going to rock your leathers with ease and confidence – like a true wild man. “

In 2017, he created the look (without the poodle haircut) to promote his own look SNL Put on a performance.
In 2019, Johnson’s co-star Kevin Hart channeled the Halloween look to promote her film Jumanji: The Next Level.
My best friend of all things @KevinHart4real Can dress up like for Halloween.
He comes back from injury and puts this dirty, rotten, HEARTLESS LOCK on me. ????????
I love you brother. Nice to have you back. New JUMANJI trailer coming TOMORROW! #HappyHalloween #fannypackrock pic.twitter.com/wNam8OvaGl– Dwayne Johnson (@TheRock) 30 October 2019
This year, Johnson recreated the look to wish the world a Merry Christmas, singing a more pedestrian version of “Chestnuts Roasting on a Roasting Fire.” He called the outfit “90s rock”.

When he was mentioned People Johnson explained that he was the sexiest man alive in 2016 and that he had a tissue under his elbow when the original photo was taken “because I felt my turtleneck was expensive.”
He also admitted: “The funniest thing about this photo is [that] it’s no joke. I walked straight out of the house. For example: “Hey honey, this is it.” ItRight?'”
