SWAT fans will be disappointed to hear this news! An important member of Rondo Harrelson’s cast since the first episode, Chris Alonso, who gained great acclaim among the police officers of the Los Angeles services, is leaving the series carried by Shemar Moore.
Lina Esco, who played the character in the TF1 saga, announced her departure from her Twitter account. “Bringing a strong and intelligent bisexual character like Chris Alonso to life was both a pleasure and an opportunity to contribute to women’s visibility. Five years later, I’m leaving SWAT to pursue new creative perspectives. Chris never backs down from the unknown, and I’m excited to step out of my comfort zone as an actor and director and begin this new chapter.“, he wrote before continuing.
“However, it was one of the most difficult decisions to make. I will always be grateful to my SWAT family, my fellow actors, writers and producers for this amazing adventure. For great SWAT fans, you are the heart of this series. I can never thank you enough for your support and for going through these chapters with Chris!“The 37-year-old actress finished very heartily.
This departure is not a big surprise, as the character Christina confesses her desire for change for many episodes to her most devoted colleague and friend from SWAT, Jim (Alex Russell). The policewoman has indeed decided to take over from Mama. (Terri Hoyos), who runs a local shelter for migrant women fleeing bad situations and is currently hospitalized.
The show has been renewed for a sixth season in the United States. In France, TF1 aired the first two episodes of the fifth episode on February 8 and should release the sequel in the coming months.
