Jack Hogan, who most notably played PFC William G. Kirby on the ABC series World War II Conflict!died in his sleep on Wednesday, December 6, according to the curator of an online community devoted to the subject Conflict! He was 94.
Hogan played PFC Kirby in 111 episodes of the long-running drama alongside Rick Jason, Vic Morrow and Pierre Jalbert. Robert Altman directed many episodes of the series, which aired from 1962 to 1967. This was not uncharted territory: Hogan was a staff sergeant in Japan during the Korean War.
Conflict! was far from Hogan’s only achievement.
