Johnny Ruffo, an Australian television star and singer, has died of brain cancer at the age of 35, reports the BBC. He died on November 3 surrounded by his loved ones, his family said in a statement on his Instagram page.
“He fought to the end and fought as hard as he could,” they said. “Such a beautiful soul who still has so much to give.”
Ruffo’s fame grew thanks to reality shows X Factor Australia before he joined the soap Home and away.
After his diagnosis in 2017, he was an active fundraiser and helped raise awareness of brain cancer in Australia.
Former X factor Host and Spice Girl Mel B was among those who offered their condolences to his family.
Dannii Minogue wrote on Instagram: “The bravest guy. His voice, his smile and his dancing feet will be missed by so many.”
Ruffo was born in Perth, Western Australia. He agreed to it X factor appeared in the third season in 2011.
He then released several singles and won a season against Australia dance with the stars and stars as Chris Harrington Home and away since three years.
Ruffo was diagnosed in 2017 and went into remission after two years of treatment. But in 2020, her cancer returned.
His partner Tahnee Sims is among the survivors.
