The director Loki and Sex Education will co-write an episode of Doctor Who

Loki Director and EP Kate Herron will co-write an upcoming episode Doctor who with Ncuti Gatwa.

Herron will write the episode with longtime collaborator Briony Redman, an actress and comedian whose credits include Welsh crime comedy. Pont Brec with Damian Evans and award-winning short film don’t forget me.

Herron is the latest big creative name to come on board for Russell T. Davies’ upcoming season. She produced and directed for Marvel Loki Series and also staged episodes of sex education, in which Gatwa plays the lead role.

Herron and Redman collaborated on a number of works, including comics The stork as well as television and film projects, including science fiction Mrs. Universe and short film Smear.

Gatwa will take on the role of the 15th Doctor next year, following three specials in which David Tennant returns and briefly becomes the 14th Doctor.

“This is the moment when I absolutely love my job,” Davies said. “Working with the amazing talents of Kate and Briony makes my whole world bigger and brighter and a lot more fun.”

Big names joining the new BBC/Disney+ co-produced series include Miriam Margolyes, Neil Patrick Harris, game of thrones Star Indira Varma and Cardiac arrestby Yasmin Finney.
