EXCLUSIVE: Netflix is highly anticipated Senna The casting of the biopic series has been completed.
The already announced main actors Gabriel Leone and Kaya Scodelario will join Alice Wegmann, Camila Márdila, Christian Malheiros, Gabriel Louchard, Hugo Bonemer, Julia Foti, Marco Ricca, Pâmela Tomé and Susana Ribeiro. In addition to the Brazilian actors, the previously announced Scodelario will also be part of the series along with Matt Mella, Arnaud Viard, Joe Hurst, Johannes Heinrichs, Keisuke Hoashi, Leon Ockenden, Patrick Kennedy, Richard Clothier, Steven Mackintosh and Tom Mannion.
The major production and several actors have just arrived in Brazil, where filming will take place in São Paulo and Angra dos Reis, Rio de Janeiro, Netflix said. The miniseries, one of Netflix’s biggest series in Brazil and produced by Gullane, has already been filmed in Argentina and Uruguay and will head to the UK after filming in the country is completed.
For six episodes Senna will depict for the first time the journey to overcome obstacles, ups and downs, joys and sorrows of the F1 driver who tragically died during the San Marino Grand Prix in Italy. A 2010 documentary by Asif Kapadia about the sports star won best documentary at the BAFTAs.
