retaliation
After the attempted murder of Madam Martinez, Cécile tells Becker and Elise something. He worries about possible reprisals from the drug lords. Philippe Verneuil’s secretary describes the circumstances of the attack to the police and admits that he could not describe the attacker as he threw himself to the ground. He regrets testifying against his boss and Axel assures him that they will do anything to find those responsible.
Big day for Claire, who continues her work at the hospital. As he leaves, he reassures Kira and Enzo that he is happy to be back. He is greeted by Yasmine and David, who are happy to see him again. Serge continues to investigate Hélène’s treatment. Alain searches for a colleague who confirms that the latter’s drug can cause psychological damage. This confirms the lawyer’s hypothesis. Alain reminds Serge that such side effects are rare and there are no proven cases in France. He points to some patients who do not comply with the dosage, but doubts that this is the case for Hélène, who knows these risks very well.
Serge then goes to Cécile’s office. They call Becker, who says Alain’s statement has been sent. Cécile confirms that she has received a second request for psychological expertise from Serge. He’ll admit it because he can’t rule out drug poisoning. Therefore, she assigns a medical professional to examine the accused.
Leaving Cécile’s office, Serge goes straight to prison to warn Hélène that her release is imminent. But after relief, Hélène is angered when she learns that she will be examined by a doctor to confirm a hypothesis linked to her treatment. He will need to stop it and get another one to see if his condition improves. However, Hélène does not understand and assures her that she is not sick. She refuses to be hospitalized, but her lawyer insists that if her theory is confirmed, she can claim her irresponsibility and thus be fired. Hélène accuses Florent of being behind all this because she wants to prevent him from living with Claire.
under protection
Cécile discusses the attempted murder with Guilhem. He is convinced that Madame Martinez is in danger and therefore decides to put him under judicial protection. This puts Guilhem at ease. Philippe Verneuil was imprisoned in the same cell as François Moreau. The latter talks to him about the situation in the prison and heavily says that he can be protected thanks to his money.
The entrepreneur then finds his lawyer in the visiting room. Florent assures him that he will do anything to help her, and says he is in touch with his daughter Aurore to keep him informed about the progress of the investigation. He offers to apply for visitation rights for her, but Verneuil refuses. She asks him about company computers and bursts into tears when he learns they are still sealed. He’s worried about his job.
Claudine enjoys shopping with Enzo. She questions him about his planned move with Claire and Florent, but she admits to him that she wants to be independent. She offers to talk about it with Florent and pay her rent. But she refuses his financial aid. Back in the office, Florent tells Margot and Johanna about his concern for Philippe Verneuil, who, according to him, has been wrongfully accused. Bringing up his relationship with Elise, Alex also begins to doubt the boss’ involvement.
While talking to Becker, Janet regrets not seeing Helene’s treatment have side effects because she could have prevented everything from happening. Becker advises not to feel guilty and states that the results will not be known for two weeks. Alain told Claire about her doubts about Hélène’s treatment. He narrates this discussion to Florent, who confirms that this theory is plausible. But for Claire, getting Hélène out of jail is just Serge’s technique. She leaves angrily and then has a nightmare about her old friend.
