Jean-Pierre Pernaut died on March 2, 2022, at the age of 71, after lung cancer. This Tuesday, May 17th, more than two months after the journalist’s disappearance, Nathalie Marquay was the guest of Cyril Hanouna’s “Touche pas à mon poste”. The wife of the former TF1 1:00 news star has come out of silence and shared bitter secrets since her husband’s death.
Former lady France specifically stated that she had felt for some time that Jean-Pierre Pernaut would not celebrate 72 years. “Prejudices, they’ll say I’m crazy, but I knew it wouldn’t exceed 72 years. I told my best friend, my daughter’s boyfriend. More than a decade ago, I said, ‘I’m terrified that I haven’t seen Jean-Pierre celebrate his 72nd birthday. It’s not a flash, it’s something from the inside. Instinctive. It’s like someone is talking to me when no one is talking to me: ’72 years will be complicated’, ’72 years will be complicated’“, he explained without emotion.
Nathalie Marquay Pernaut added that she felt the cancer would not be fatal for her husband, but that she perceived a brain and heart problem: “It was always me, heart and head. That’s why I always said to Jean-Pierre, ‘Don’t worry, you won’t die of cancer, you won’t die of cancer,’ but of course I couldn’t tell him that I didn’t see him congratulate him. 72nd birthday. I was terrified when she started having a stroke in January. He did 12 mini-hits in total, and 13 of them were fatal. I knew there would be more hearts and heads, and unfortunately I was wrong”, he complained.
In an interview with Ciné Télé Revue, Nathalie Marquay relied on this disappearance and described the strange signs she had seen from her deceased husband. “I know you’re near me I believe in angels, in the afterlife (…) He who was very humble when I talked to him about this is now giving me signs. I left the hospital at 9 pm every night for two months and the Eiffel Tower was closed. The day he died, as he was leaving, it was glowing. That was our first date at the restaurant.”he shared.
