Bored, Pierre Gasly wants to move quickly again, with his eyes set on the Belgian Grand Prix scheduled for Sunday, July 30: “We must keep working. I don’t think anyone is happy to be in these positions. We are all rivals and we all want to compete at the front, but we are not performing well enough at the moment. We showed it yesterday. We need to find more performances and I think everyone is motivated to get out of this series that we have now. We’re going to focus on the last race before the break and look for points for the team, because it’s more than unfortunate that both cars stopped in the first lap.“

Esteban Ocon also did not hide his disappointment after this new humiliation from his team: “I’m disappointed that I’ve done so few laps, getting hit in the first corner is a result of starting so far in the herd, everyone is risking too much to gain ground, but hey, the race isn’t determined in the first corner so it’s a bit sad. We had plenty of room. I think then I would have taken the position, I would have skipped the car inside, with Pierre at the exit it would have been narrow but it would have been fine. (…) The images are clear, double abandonment for the team and disgusting. We’ll do it again next week, hoping to catch up and have a good final race before the break.“
