Alf is returning to the small screen thanks to actor Ryan Reynolds. The Canadian actor and father of four is bringing back another classic in a different form after announcing that they are working with his production company Maximum Effort on the reboot of ‘Space Bikers’.
The Hollywood Reporter reported Monday that Blake Lively’s husband Paul Fusco, creator of Alf, and Shout! Studios will bring the famous alien back to television as part of the sponsored episodes on the Maximum Effort channel on platforms such as Fubo, Amazon Freeve or Tubi. The episodes will be called Maximum Moments.
During the announcement, Ryan Reynolds shared a few words about his intentions for these episodes and why they chose Alf as the main star: “At Maximum Effort, we like to take risks and blur the lines between performance and sponsorship because we believe that both can be equally fun. Alongside my irrational love for ALF as a kid. One of the reasons we licensed this show is precisely because we wanted to license this show to bring this show back to life with Paul, the bold brand ‘Shout’ to bring this show back to life with us. z!”
Maximum Effort was co-founded by Deadpool star and George Dewe. The production house is at the root of many projects that combine television, film and advertising with brands like Aviation Gin or Mint Mobile. Last June, Maximum Effort Investments decided to buy a stake in Formula 1 team Alpine Racing. Nothing seems to be stopping Ryan Reynolds, who successfully stepped into entrepreneurship a few years ago.
