Reprogramming: these hearings that forced M6 to make a radical decision

M6 turns their schedule upside down when a prime time show fails to find an audience.

On July 3, M6 debuted Love at First Sight at the end of the world, an unprecedented dating show. Concept ? Five men and women have decided to fulfill their dreams and have given up everything to open a guesthouse thousands of kilometers from France. Established in Cambodia, Canada, Ecuador, Spain or Morocco, these venues welcome up to three singles ready to change their lives if love gets involved. For a week they will explore a country, culture and language and will have to share the daily activities of their still single hosts. Will they be able to adapt to the lives of their hosts and seduce them?

A format that has everything to please on paper but fails to entice audiences. Indeed, according to figures from Médiamétrie, the dating program attracted only 947,000 curious people (5.2% of the public) in the first episode when it launched, and only 797,000 viewers (5.4% of the public) in the second episode.

Another disappointment for the Six, which gathered just 808,000 viewers, or 4.6% of the public, in front of their station on Monday, July 10, placing the channel in fifth place after France 5 among PAF viewers. The M6 took a radical decision. After two weeks of airing, Love at First Sight at the End of the World is disappearing from the grid next week! Indeed, Monday, July 17th, has come out of the meeting schedule to be replaced by Home for Sale hosted by Stéphane Plaza. Episodes will be played at 6 so that the audience can see the end of the season of “Love is at the End of the World”.
