A publication reflecting the news as riots broke out all over France following the murder of young Nahel by a police officer. In this text, we can read especially murderous sentences against Omar Sy: “Omar, you have some talent, especially thanks to your directors. You also flopped a lot. Worst of all, these are your insults to the French police. You should thank France, and therefore its police, for allowing you to climb to the top of the ladder. Outside of France, of course, you’ve become a star that has amassed millions of dollars. (…) Risking his life, the French police earn in a year what you earn in thirty seconds. (…) You can shove your insults at the police up your ass with your million dollars.“
However, this “open letter” signed by Olivier Marchal turned out to be a complete lie. It was the 64-year-old actor himself who blamed himself via a video posted on social networks on Sunday, July 2nd: “I hate to do this kind of interference, but here it is. I know that one such torch letter against Omar Sy, allegedly signed by me, is circulating.“, before he lets his anger explode, initiates the director: “I wanted to tell everyone that it wasn’t me who wrote this, but people whose demeanor and personality I can’t describe, who gave permission to say it to themselves using my name. If I have something to say to Omar Sy, I’ll say it to his face.“
