Saul Benchetrit: "Young & Golri tackles everything that’s usually taboo on screen" (OCS MAX)

In this time-lapse season, creator, screenwriter and assistant director Agnès Hurstel plays Alma, the protagonist’s bride.

How did you approach the role that Jehanne Pasquet held before you?

Saul Benchetrit: Jehanne built a very fair character. So there were little bases that I hoped handled well. This season 2 is a pure portrait of a teenager. Agnès wanted everything to be “honest”. It’s not romantic. The show covers the most important topics: first steps to sex, masturbation, acne, menstruation… Everything that is usually taboo on the screen.

How was the shoot?

You need a link on this type of project because we had very little shooting time. Confidence comes from our experiences. Agnès and I are very sensitive to people’s feelings and energies.

Agnès, your first question about the show is “Is it clever and feminist?”

I have ambitions and dreams… When he asked me to try it, I really wanted it, because season 1 (watched by his mother, actress Anna Mouglalis, editor’s note) made me laugh and thought-provoking humor. . Even the casting scenes like “first gynecological date” were great. Knowing that a test is always an uncomfortable situation with a lot of stress allowed us to see who is comfortable and who is not.
