The quirky and bizarre series Black Mirror returns to Netflix on June 15 with its sixth season. Series creator Charlie Brooker recently asked ChatGPT to write him an episode of his dystopian anthology series and was not impressed with the results.

“The first thing I did was write “Create part of Black Mirror”, Charlie Brooker has appeared in the new issue of Empire Magazine. “Something came out of it that seemed reasonable at first glance, but was just nonsense on second glance”.

After taking the time to study the AI-generated scenario, Charlie Brooker realized where the program went wrong. “All he did was go through all the Black Mirror episode summaries and sort of put them together.” did he declare “If you dig a little deeper, you’re like, ‘Oh, there’s really no original thought here.

The Emmy-winning screenwriter wasn’t impressed with the final product, but the experience still had a huge impact on the series’ upcoming sixth season. Seeing how the program tried to imitate Black Mirror, Brooker learned what not to do. More importantly, he realized that it was time to try something new.

When someone said, “Oh, I was inside a computer all this time!“. Explains Charlie Brooker.”So I thought to myself I’d get rid of any ideas of what a Black Mirror episode was. There’s no point in doing an anthology show if you can’t break your own rules.”

Inspired by this revelation, the new season will take Black Mirror into uncharted territory. Charlie Brooker said the season will be similar in tone to previous episodes, but fans “expect the unexpected” in terms of content.

Season 6 will hit Netflix on June 15. Aaron Paul, Annie Murphy, Salma Hayek Pinault, Ben Barnes, Michael Cera, Himesh Patel and Zazie Beetz are among the stars joining the series this new season.
