Did you expect Kev Adams to unmask that quickly?
To be honest, I was surprised. Because Kev – or Kevin as I call it! I remember when he told me:Only my mom calls me Kevin!” (Laughs) … But it’s true that he was very, very young when I started on television in France, so I wondered how he could have guessed it was me.
Did you know about the show before you were contacted?
I didn’t know him very well, I went on an adventure without knowing anything. All of a sudden I expected nothing and enjoyed it immensely. I was really happy to discover all this. I’m not a big TV watcher. I’m more of an information addict and I really like documentaries, non-commercial movies…
Some costumes are more restrictive than others in the show. How was yours?
My Carnivorous Herb costume was really cool. It had good flexibility! I was a little scared because I’m claustrophobic, but the wide opening of my mouth at the level of my head allowed me to breathe well and stay calm. I’ve never been stressed, I’m very relaxed. Especially since the teams are great Mask Singer. All extraordinary.
What songs did you plan to play in the semi-finals and finals?

Elodie is a very beautiful woman I’ve seen growing up on TV and in music. He is a very sensitive and empathetic person whom I greatly appreciate. She is rare, she is not afraid to show her feelings. He even came to congratulate me after the shoot and thanked me for this moment. I really immersed myself in the song and it touched him.
How did you do all the protocol to keep your identity private?
It was heavy! (Laughs) It was something new and unusual for me. It was intriguing but a little tiring because there are so many things set up and you have to strictly stick to protocol so that no one knows who you are. And after all these years of working on television in France, I met people I met. Mask Singer, but I couldn’t talk to them, ask how they were… It wasn’t an easy protocol to follow. Not possible. There was a lot of work. That said, I appreciate being anonymous. It may be hard for some people to understand, I love my job but I wasn’t built to be the center of attention 24 hours a day. It’s not healthy for me, I need my personal space.
Can you tell us about your two singles that will be released on Friday, May 26?
There is a song in French. dance on iceand another in English, Housemeans “home”. They were written at the end of 2020, in the midst of the Covid pandemic, and they talk about the literal importance of the house, figuratively what we are building. They also talk about what the house represents: security, where you are comfortable enough to be yourself and where you can experience all your emotions, scream, laugh and cry. We’ve all been dancing a little on ice for the past three years. The ground is very thin, life is dangerous, it doesn’t take long for the ice to break.
Your new album will be released on July 14, 2023, you named it. love saves (Love is a lifesaver, editor’s note)…
It’s a very, very honest album. Raw, even. That’s a very, very crude record. I’m not afraid to say what I think. I’m still rocking it! There is so much hidden today that it is exhausting. So art is one of the only industries in the world where you have the opportunity to be very honest when you have the courage. We are observers of what is going on in the world and it is our duty to tell it. There will be three songs in French on this album.
Will you be back with Les Enfoirés in January 2024?
Maybe, we’ll see! I have very good memories of Les Enfoirés. I hope the public appreciates this sharing of the French art community. It is unique in the world to see a collective of artists who aim to nurture people in need and bring together personalities from all walks of life. I find this reason extremely noble. Moreover, whenever an event occurs in the world, natural disaster or something else, there is an art community that stands up, rolls up its sleeves and always rushes to help. I don’t see any other industry doing this for free.
