Worrying disappearance (France 3): Youssef Hajdi’s beautiful statement to Julie Zengin, her "soul mate"

In the episode of Worried Disappearance, which will be watched this Wednesday night on France 3, Youssef Hajdi represents the right-hand man of a police commander, played by Julie Prens. Asked during the recent Luchon 2023 TV Festival, where this fiction was offered as a preview, the actress also revealed about La Flamme and her impressive career, in addition to her key conversation with the actress.

Did you know about this collection before?

I stumbled upon the one with Sarah Forestier and Pierre Rochefort by chance. I liked it a lot and found it very unique for television. Presence of Julie Prens and Stéphanie Pillonca (director, editor’s note), These two extraordinary women made me accept The disturbing disappearance. I hadn’t worked with France Télévisions in a long time, so I was happy to return to a form like this, classic, less comedy.

How was the shoot with Julie Zengin?

Extraordinary ! I had so much fun. Stéphanie Pillonca is a person who transforms the energy of the set. She lets you get to the heart of things and history. He puts a lot of love into the set and it shows. It makes us players feel really comfortable and able to suggest something.

What about your meeting with Julie Zengin?

Sometimes there are obvious things that happen in life. You meet someone and it feels like a kindred spirit you’ve known for thirty years. We felt like Julie and I had been friends since high school! Everything was clear and fluid. She is a charming and wonderful actress. He has a very interesting sensibility. I think we should offer him more roles like this.

What drew you to your character?

He is a modern man at the service of a woman. No ego stories. In this investigation, Julie allows her character to reveal herself because after all, these two people have commonalities that are told in the invisibility. In a way, he knows himself in her. Most of the time we are in the opposite archetype. But I find it good and normal to be involved in such topics where women stand out.

It’s also one of those rare times when you don’t have a secondary role…

People often come to me to talk about strong game colors and something very fast. And there was a woman named Stéphanie who took a look at me and wanted to see more of me in the long run. I’m just asking this. I was talking about this with my gaming partner Malik Zidi. I don’t feel like a lead role or a supporting role. For me it’s about the character’s place in the story. But it’s true that it makes more sense to talk about length.

Is it frustrating to be offered a few key roles?

People often tell me they want to see me more. Let the directors hear (laughs)! To be honest with you, I am very happy with what I did today. If there are offers for bigger roles, I’m ready to go. But sometimes, some show a lack of imagination towards me. That’s why I find powerful things to evoke a bit of imagination in others. Maybe it will change, I don’t know. I keep working, and if things go well, it’s much better.

Are you put in a box?

Of course we tried. We want to put you in a box with what you give physically, your accent, your skin color, even your regional origin. Either we agree to do it or we say no. I’ve duplicated the role suggestions here. It’s hard to put myself in a box today because I do a lot of different things. I see myself as an actor, a blank slate on which we can write any story. It’s up to me to animate these characters.

What would your dream role be?

I’ll lie by giving you one. When I started this business, some roles were unthinkable even in my imagination. I never thought of playing on a peplum, I did two. I played a reference of DGSE Legends Officeinside a woman Flame… Life is so much more amazing than my imagination!

you were not on the roster TorchFollowing Flame. Why ?

The orchid took up a lot of space (laughs)! He was so strong that they thought it was him to get him in. Torch cancel everyone! More seriously, I don’t know, Jonathan Cohen and the writers’ choice. Sometimes there are stories that go other ways. I was almost a main character in the first season. What he has to say with this character should be enough for him. But I could love him and it would be great to find him in season 3. But I also like to be surprised with new formats. I love what Eric Judor is doing and I also prepare something in writing.

You were mentioned on the list of Révélations at Césars a few years ago and you were sponsored by Jacques Audiard. Are you still in contact with him?

No, he’s very mysterious and shy, a bit in his own bubble. I would like to thank him for presenting this parenthesis to me during this period. Jacques is the godfather of cinema for what he offers in his art, even if he doesn’t want to. His films sponsor you in your desire for cinema. Michel Hazanavicius was the godfather of my second quote in Révélations. we met on the show plane tree and we are in contact. We give each other feedback on our related work.

Was acting a childhood dream for you?

This is extraordinary. I worked in markets, telephony, real estate, restaurants, ready-to-wear… When I was in high school, a teacher saw in me a talent close to acting. He stayed with me for two years. For the baccalaureate year, I decided to drop out of school to work in a large computer phone shop. I was 20 at the time. He walked into this shop one day and said that what I did was great, but he thought I’d do what he told me and become an actor. Something mystical happened that day. 20 years later, I saw myself as the unhappiest man in the world, not fulfilling my dream. I left everything and went to Paris to become an actress. Nothing was waiting for me there and I had to prove myself. I had to do more than others.
