Rob Lowe, star Parks and Recreationjoined The Simpsons as the series tackles the grim subject of an epidemic in the next episode titled “The Very Hungry Caterpillars”.
The actor told Entertainment Weekly: “It’s becoming rarer for me to find firsts in business, and it’s a great first. I feel like I’ve finally arrived.”

It’s a real cartoon, it was a nice change of pace.” Says : “Vocalization is a completely different muscle – those are definitely the vocal cords. No matter how many times I do this, I’m still amazed at how different voiceover is from any other type of acting.”
The episode sees a swarm of caterpillars invade Springfield, resulting in deadlock, while students at the school continue to learn through video chat sessions. When Principal Skinner accidentally leaves his computer’s video camera on, Bart (Nancy Cartwright) observes the arrival of his cousin Peter and how it affects the household.

The series holds the world record for the number of guest stars in a single television show, with more than 950 guest stars to date.
Last January, the series was renewed for two more seasons, guaranteeing a total of at least 36 seasons of The Simpsons on FOX.
