Bernard Weber’s success no longer needs to be proven. The author of the famous trilogy “Ants”, “Thanatonates”, “Pandora’s Box” and even “Prophecy of the Bees”, translated into 35 languages, almost did not reach adult age.
Invited to the Anne-Elisabeth Lemoine set in C à vous at France 5, the author tells an anecdote that happened to her when she was just 14: “We were cycling in Corsica, we were a group of 8 people. He stopped by a straw hut. I headed to the bathroom to refill our water bottles. There was blood everywhere, but I still filled the bottles. I go outside and a man with blood all over his face comes out. There is also a child who says, ‘Don’t hit daddy, he’s not daddy’”;
Bernard Werber continues his novel-worthy story: “I joined the group and said there’s a guy with a gun who looks a little weird, so we better go”.
He adds: “The problem is when these kinds of things happen to me, I’m too calm and so I can’t translate the emotion. A girl who was with us told the story to the others, but she got emotional and scared everyone. I slept so well, I was the only one,” she said.
But this misfortune made young Bernard Werber realize something: “I said to myself, damn it, you have to make every second profitable. Things can just stop like this”.
Bernard Werber details this anecdote in his new book, an autobiography entitled “Memoirs of an Ant.” We had to celebrate this occasion with a book of 30 novels, 30 years, 30 translations, 30 million readers, 22 chapters corresponding to the 22 mysteries of a tarot deck. Passionate about hypnosis, self-help, and science, in this book she reveals to us the secrets of her novels, the surprising adventures that inspired them, and experiences such as lucid dreaming and regressive hypnosis practice.
