Can you give us a sketch of your character?
Sofia Khammes: Said is the new head of the BRI. He is one of the elite cops who intervened in the Bataclan on November 13, 2015. He comes from intelligence, has military training, has great respect for hierarchy and strong moral values. He served in Syria and has a mystery to explore next season.
What prompted these police officers to join this brigade?
You have to be a cop for years to get into this almost legendary unit, and the selection is strict. Enjoying an exceptional aura, these men train every day: tactics, shadowing… They investigate and act like “super cops” so to speak. It is a very prestigious institution.
How did you prepare to instantiate the function?
Beyond the “intellectual” part of the documentation, we followed months of intense training with fellow brigade cops to know their private business. A former special forces instructor taught us to be reliable in our movements, to hold a gun. He gave us the grammar of the field. For my part, I introduced myself to live ammunition shooting. I needed to know this feeling.
Is everything on the screen 100% BRI compliant?
NO. I don’t want to give spoilers, but some scenes are interpreted by police officers during production. They approve of everything but a “default” scene for us for fiction’s purposes.
Does BRI have such nice cars?
For fairly classy cars, I was told they were vehicles from judicial seizures. Maybe there is some freedom here too.
BRI is on Canal+ on Monday, May 1 at 21:10
