The last of us Star Bella Ramsey has been cast in the second season of the BBC prison drama Time with Jodie Whittaker, Tamara Lawrance and Siobhan Finneran.
Jimmy McGovern’s show, starring Stephen Graham and Sean Bean in its heartbreaking first season, moves to a women’s prison, where Ramsey will play the role of Kelsey. ).
Despite the constant threat of violence within its walls, they discover that an unexpected sense of community and understanding is still possible.

The two-time BAFTA-winning first season, which won Best Miniseries and Best Actor (Bean), followed a prison where a man who killed someone while under the influence of alcohol befriended a prison guard. It received critical acclaim for McGovern’s portrayal of prison life in Britain, averaging over 10 million viewers per episode.
McGovern said the casting for season two was “the best casting I’ve ever seen for a drama of mine.”
Filming for the second season will begin soon in Liverpool. Time is a BBC Studios production for BBC One and BBC iPlayer. The series was written by McGovern and Helen Black and directed by Andrea Harkin (The Confessions of Frannie Langton, The trial of Christine Keeler) and produced by Carmel Maloney (femdom, Dublin Murders).
