Family atmosphere (France 3) – Samuel Labarthe: "I really enjoyed shooting with Sylvie Testud."

In their first film together, Samuel Labarthe and Sylvie Testud play a brother and a sister who are heirs to a police dynasty. Come across.

Family vibe… This title says a lot about your characters, right?

Samuel Labarthe: The TV movie was to be titled Les François, a large father-to-son family of police officers from the Hauts-de-France region. If there is a sequel, their story will definitely be developed later. Meanwhile, my character François’ sister, whom he sees come into his life like a rabid dog in a bowling game, is a 9-3 BAC cop!

Sylvie Testud: They are two researchers who work instinctively but with different working methods!

Are you introducing us?

Samuel: François is the police commissioner in Abbeville. A quiet and respectable man in his district, who has lived alone since his wife’s death. His passion for animals helps him rebuild himself.

Silvia: Caroline is a free and modern woman who fully embraces herself. She doesn’t give up on her misfortunes, but she wants to move forward.

How would you describe the relationship between François and his brother Caroline?

Samuel: In all families there are always children who are not alike. François, the eldest of the brothers, was entitled to preferential treatment. Little valued and little taken into account, Caroline felt absolutely left out. They are like dogs and cats. This forensic investigation will shake them up and send them back to what unites and separates them.

Silvia: They grew up together, but little rivalry remained between them. A little jealousy. The kind that will make you wonder which of the two is brighter and make parents proud. Topics for siblings!

QWhat motivated you to make this TV movie?

Samuel: I am deeply moved by this family tragedy and the consequences it has had on the victim’s loved ones.

Silvia: My unusual character. I was rarely offered a role with such a wide range of acting!

I read that director Didier Bivel called you both Stradivarius…

Samuel: This is really nice. I shot an episode with him in 2017. The Little Murders of Agatha Christie. Didier has a beautiful sensibility. I was happy to have found her again and also very happy to shoot with Sylvie. She’s a great actress. With it, it was short for taste. Very rare between two players!

Silvia: I didn’t know Didier said that, and I’m so glad.

Samuel, I think you have some good news to tell us about the César Wagner series.

Samuel : Yes ! Next May, I’ll be filming my wedding with Fanny Cottençon. I am so happy to be the imaginary stepfather of Gil Alma, an actor I admire, but I can assure you I have no intention of having another child!

And you, Sylvie, what did you follow?

Silvia: I’m back golden handsA poignant comedy directed by Isabelle Mergault, starring Josiane Balasko and Lambert Wilson, and scheduled to hit theaters June 23.
