“Lot, New York is a compelling coming-of-age story of prophecy and family, centered on unlucky lovers. which is not loving It is a universe of friendship, love, secrets, gays, sibling rivalry and magic. We loved it from page one and got in touch as soon as possible,” Tegan and Sara said in a statement.
“We are delighted to be a part of it and can’t wait to see it come to life. We invest in queer stories with strong female leads and work to make left-of-center stories. We came of age in the ’90s, a decade still largely devoid of stories and characters that reflected the people we were, making it hard to imagine who we might become. Our hope to expand our storytelling beyond music to film and television is to bring unique, alternative stories to life. After middle school, Lot, New York felt like a natural next step and we are proud to make this our next project,” she added.
