EXCLUSIVE: Vice Media has a new partner in the field of documentary film.
The youth media company, whose CEO Nancy Dubuc recently abandoned plans to sell, has struck a deal with Fox-owned Tubi for a new series of original documentaries for the ad-supported streamer.
Vice News produces and launches eight documentaries for the service the cult of elon, via Twitter owner Elon Musk.
The Cult of Elon Launching on April 24, it follows the Musk and Tesla success story that explores his journey to become one of the most influential and controversial businessmen by creating an extremely powerful cult of personality.
Executive producers are Maral Usefi and Stacey Sommer. Jeb Banegas and Patrick Mannion serve as editors and Steve Bartus produces.
It will follow Vigilant, Inc., starting on May 6. This project explores the volatile world of online vigilantism as told during a recent search for a Los Angeles arsonist – fueled by crime and neighborhood watch app Citizen.
Vigilante, Inc., directed and produced by Paula Neudorf, will be executive produced by Matthew Skene and Gemma Jordan.
The remaining six documents cover topics such as chatbot technology, mass shootings in the US and ticket scalping and will be published for the first time this year.
Beverly Chase, VP Current Programming at Vice News, will oversee the collaboration with Tubi. Vice Content Distribution owns the worldwide rights to the documentary series outside of the United States
