A royal historian was charged with assault live on GB News last night after covering a fellow guest’s mouth during a grumpy conversation about the climate crisis.
Dr. Tessa Dunlop laid on her hand during the debate on Jerry Hayes, a former Conservative MP The State of the Nation by Jacob Rees-Mogg. She immediately apologized.
Hayes was invited by host Mogg, himself a sitting Conservative MP, to make some closing remarks following the programme’s earlier interview with a Just Stop Oil activist.
Hayes said climate crisis protesters must abide by the law before being interrupted by Dunlop. As they both spoke simultaneously, Dunlop put her hand over Hayes’ mouth to silence him.
“Don’t touch me,” he raged. “It was an attack, it was an attack.” Dunlop was quick to reply: “I’m really sorry, I didn’t mean to offend you.”
Mogg said: “Thanks to my two panelists I’m a bit excited today.” During a commercial break, Dunlop and Hayes could be seen laughing together.
