Amy Jo Johnson shuts down rumors about why she decided not to attend Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Reunion movie for Netflix.
“Please stop saying I didn’t do the reunion for the money. It’s just not true,” the former Pink Ranger tweeted.
Johnson continued, “Maybe at 50 I just didn’t want to wear spandex or I couldn’t walk [New Zealand] for a month. Or no beeswax. [Jason David Frank] & I both chose not to for my own reasons. They filmed before he died.”
The Happiness Alum added that she was “excited to watch [her] Friends Davis Yost and Walter Jones “rock it” in the film, playing the Blue and Black Rangers respectively.

Johnson previously addressed not being a part of it Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once and Forever coming to the streamer on April 19th.
In a Jan. 18 tweet, she wrote: “For the record, I never said no… I just didn’t say yes to what was offered. But there’s more fun ahead! I’m looking forward to it then to see my friends do it!”

According to Netflix’s logline for Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once and ForeverThe film is set “thirty years after the wise and mighty Zordon founded the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, the team faces a familiar threat from the past. In the midst of a global crisis, you are once again called to be the heroes what the world needs.”
The 30th Anniversary Special is inspired by the franchise’s iconic mantra “Once a Ranger, Always a Ranger,” meaning that once you’re part of the Ranger family, you’re always welcome.
The film’s trailer features legendary villain Rita Repulsa once again taking on the Power Rangers. Thuy Trang, who died in 2001, played the Yellow Ranger and is honored in the reunion film. Catherine Sutherland reprises her role as Katherine Hillard playing the Pink Ranger and Steve Cardenas returns in the Red Ranger suit, reprising his role as Rocky DeSantos.
