‘I wanted to be anybody’: Kev Adams explains why he changed his name

Last night, Kev Adams was Nathalie Lévy’s guest on “En aparté” on Canal+. An opportunity for the young man to reconsider the choice of the artist name.

For the past few years, Kev Adams has been everywhere! Television, stage, cinema… nothing can resist it.

In 2009, at the age of 17, the young man was noticed by the producer of Anne Roumanoff. The latter invites him to the stage and has not stopped since! He states: “I said to myself, Smadja still feels very oriental. There was an identity side, identity… I wanted to be everybody. I wanted a superhero named Peter Parker who you would say to yourself: the man can be anything but anything.”. In other words, it becomes “Adams” by removing a letter from his real surname and mixing the letters together. And there is revelation for the young man: “I say to myself, ‘Oh that’s nice, it sounds American’”.
