"i grind my teeth" : Eliminated, Rudy enraged when he learned the strategies of his former Koh-Lanta teammates on TV

Watering sprinklers! The red tribe’s likeable strategist is fired from the adventure, looking back on his journey…

How did you prepare for this adventure?

Rudy: I bet on everything. You say to yourself, “It’s okay, it’s manageable” while watching the events on the TV from your couch, but at that moment, I immediately realized that I wasn’t prepared enough, especially physically. I didn’t expect it to be this difficult. Survival was complicated, even to relieve ourselves, it was either a hole in the sea or in the sand. Then it was necessary to find sheets that did not irritate the hip to wipe himself (laughs).

What aspects of the adventure surprised you?

Managing the human side was more complex than I thought. We think we can trust someone, and in the end, as Estéban often says, “surprise, surprise! » …

Alexandre brought out your strategist side at a council meeting, did it hurt you?

Not at all, there are several ways to become a strategist. Unlike Alexander, who wanted to eliminate adventurers by dividing people, I only used the strategy to get out of a bad situation. I have a chance to be very social, people like me easily, versus Alexandre, that was an advantage.

The red tribe has a series of defeats in immunity tests. What did you miss?

Even today I can’t explain it. We are not good when we are not good! There was definitely a lack of communication and awareness during the events, and we see this also during the construction of the raft. I was criticized for putting myself forward too much, so I chose to stay behind even though I was confident.

How would you like to respond to teammates who blame you for being overconfident?

I’m a boxer, when you get into a ring and prepare to fight, you have to be confident or you will lose. I may have misrepresented my ambition and will to win, and I can understand the anger of other adventurers, I was wrong.

The yolk should have won the comfort game award (fried chicken). Didn’t anyone think of sharing the award with them?

(Rudy laughs) Hunger has made us selfish. Honestly, we were so hungry that I don’t think anyone thought of fair play back then! But it’s true that we only won because they were forced to retire after breaking their canoe, without that fateful impulse the victory was theirs.

How did you approach the board?

I knew too late that I was in danger to have time to develop a strategy. I was convinced that everyone agreed to eliminate Anne-Sophie but I didn’t feel it, I told myself it was too ‘smooth’. Estéban confirmed to me shortly before the council that I was in danger. There was a secret code between us. We had to lightly step on the other’s shoulder to hold back each other. But it’s too late.

Are you blaming the historic Reds for overthrowing you?

I was really disappointed to see Helena and Anne-Sophie bonding with the old yellows. We were numerically superior, how did we come to divide? Maybe I was annoying, but we needed to see more than that. I’m not giving away most of their skins for reunion.

What do you think of Benjamin’s abandonment?

I was a little disappointed with him, especially since we were halfway through the adventure, he had already taken care of the hardest part. I don’t understand because he was on a winning team! There are 40,000 people who dream of making Koh-Lanta every year, we are privileged to have the chance to join this adventure…

Do you think the plot of the show reflects your adventure?

Yes. On the other hand, I was very surprised and disturbed to discover the strategies of Anne-Sophie and Helena. For example, I grit my teeth when I found out how Tania’s elimination went. They want to destroy the redheads to the last!
