Paul Walter Hauser Says He’d Like To Play Chris Farley In A Biopic, But His Window To Do The Project Is Closing

Actor Paul Walter Hauser has taken Hollywood by storm, choosing projects to highlight her incredible acting skills as I, Tony, BlacKkKlansman, Richard Jewell, From 5 Blood, Cobra Kaiand her Golden Globe-winning performance in the intense limited drama series Black bird. She’s getting her fair share of offers as she moves forward in the industry, and has a few ideas about who she’d like to play, but they don’t come without complications.

In a 2021 interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Hauser explained that he would like to play the comedian and actor Chris Farley in a biopic about his life, and has a great idea for the story, but believes the window to make that film is closing.

“I wanted to do a Chris Farley movie where he’s in rehab for half the movie, and the other half of the movie, he’s doing his SNL things and his films. I think I have a really great take on that story, but I’m trying to lose weight and I’m trying to redefine myself as a person who makes healthy choices and as an actor. So the days of playing Fatty Arbuckle, Chris Farley or Ignatius J. Reilly in a Confederation of Dunces the film has a very small time window and is getting smaller by the week.

That was almost two years ago, and I think Hauser has been in so many movies and series since this interview, he hasn’t been able to change his appearance, contractually. So it looks like the window is still open. However, Farley died when he was 33 and Hauser will be 37 this year. He has a youthful appearance, but there are probably only a few years where he would be able to pull it off.

I’d like to see it happen. I think Paul Walter Hauser is an amazing actor and he will continue to do incredible projects. He is currently working on the Douglas Liman-direct film The instigatorsin which he will act alongside Hong Chau, Matt DamonAND Casey Affleck.
