Yesterday, France’s coach Didier Deschamps spoke in Le Parisien’s columns, before revealing his first post-World Cup roster (scheduled for Thursday, October 16). The Blues will start their European qualifiers against the Netherlands and Ireland. The coach, who recently extended his contract with the Federation until 2026, spoke about the Karim Benzema case and his controversial withdrawal for the World Cup. He told what happened on the night of 19-20 November.
“Karim was hurt because this World Cup meant a lot to him. He said to me, “He’s dead.” “You set it up.” He told Didier Deschamps.
As a reminder, shortly before the Blues’ match against Australia for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, Karim Benzema had to give up playing in sports due to a quadriceps injury. In a press release from the France team’s account, “Real Madrid striker, who suffered a blow to the quadriceps of his left thigh, had to give up participation in the World Cup. Karim Benzema had to interrupt his training session because he felt pain in the quadriceps area of his left thigh. Went for an MRI which unfortunately confirmed the rectus femoris lesion which would require a three week recovery time.
However, Didier Deschamps’ words made Karim Benzema, who reacted from his Instagram account, jump from his place. The actor expressed his dissatisfaction in the story. In the first story, Ballon d’Or 2022 posted a screenshot where the coach added a clown emoji and the following sentence over some of his words: “But how dare you!”
Visibly enraged and touched by this story, snapchatteur posted a second story with a video that Ritchie repeated. “Liar, you’re a liar.” On top of this quote, Karim Benzema added: “Holy Didier… Good night.”
