Iskender: I knew I was taking a risk. I wanted to make sure people understand that we can move forward in the game by showing strategy and solidarity, even with a less physically efficient team. I was disappointed to see that no one was as willing to make big poker moves as I was. I managed to gather a few adventurers at first, but when it was time to go, they were all scared.
Do you regret revealing your strategic direction too soon?
I may have missed the social aspect of the game, but I regret nothing. Whatever the outcome, I wanted to play hard and own my game. I didn’t want to be transparent or hide.
The more discreet Rudy also turns out to be a good strategist. There seems to be a little rivalry between the two of you?
Absolutely, but it was a friendly competition. A few days ago, I was beginning to understand her little trick when I surprised her while talking to corner Helena. His strength is that he draws more sympathy from me.
A word about Helena that you didn’t like from the start?
Actually, I have nothing against him. His behavior even made me laugh. It has flaws but I raised them for other adventurers to notice. We were 6 or 7 years old to admit. I immediately saw that it had offended a few of my comrades, and jumped at the chance to make a move.
Keeping the older and less athletic members of the yellow tribe… wasn’t that also a smart calculation for reunification?
It was somewhat. We didn’t see it on TV, but on our first night together, I made more friends with members of the yellow tribe, including Quentin, Gilles, and Nicolas. Eliminating Helena was also a way to pocket them and find myself somewhat at the center of the two tribes during reunification.
In what mood did you go to the parliament?
I was confused, I felt something had changed before I left the island… I was doing my calculations and I thought Elodie would be eliminated but I didn’t think Anne-Sophie would vote against Me. We agreed on strategies from the very beginning of our adventure together… This is an evaluation error, it was actually closer to Esteban. He must have convinced her to vote against me.
Were you able to explain yourself to him?
He justifies his choice by the fact that I was the least athletic…we didn’t have to attend the same events. It kind of makes me laugh to know that Rudy is less efficient than me at the water test.
Do you think the plot of the show reflects your adventure well?
Yes, in general I am satisfied with everything shown. I found myself very grumpy. I didn’t know, but you have to guess. (laughs)
