F1: What time and what channel to watch Bahrain Grand Prix?

It’s school time for Formula 1 drivers. The paddock is in Bahrain for the first Grand Prix of the season, which kicks off at 16:00 on Sunday, March 5. Until then, discover the schedule for this great sports weekend.

Throughout the 2022 season, Red Bull Racing and Max Verstappen flew from start to finish throughout the season. The Austrian team finished on top of the constructors’ championship with 759 points, well ahead of Ferrari’s 554 points. Among the drivers, the young Dutchman won his second crown, 146 points ahead of his follower Charles Leclerc.

After several months and a 3-day hiatus for winter testing at the Sakhir circuit in Bahrain at the end of February, the title race has already begun with the first free practice session between 12:30am and 1:00pm: Friday, March 3rd at 30. Red Bull’s Sergio Perez session dominated, followed by Aston Martin from Alonso and Red Bull from Max Verstappen. Lando Norris, Charles Leclerc, Lance Stroll, Kevin Magnussen, Guanyu Zhou, Valtteri Bottas and Lewis Hamilton rounded out the top 10. Few changes have been made to the regulations, so the 2023 cars are basically the same as the previous year’s cars.

The second free practice session is scheduled between 16:00 and 17:00. The results should better represent the current strengths because this session, like the final race, will take place at night. Once they’ve set their marks, the drivers will return to the circuit for qualifying (Saturday 4 March at 4:00 PM), which will be a rush hour to guarantee the best spot on the starting line. The Bahrain Grand Prix will be held at 16:00 the next day.
