Evangeline Lilly looks back on the early seasons of Lost and admits it is difficult for her as she criticizes her acting.
“We would have Lost Parties where the cast would get together to watch the show and if it was a Kate-centric episode I’d want to crawl in a hole and die knowing I’m bad,” she said during an appearance in the Happy sad confused Podcast (via IndieWire). “And to this day, I hold on to the fact that I can watch the first few seasons and cringe because I’m not very good.”
Lost debuted on ABC in 2004 and ran for six seasons on the network. Lilly played the role of Kate Austen in the JJ Abrams series throughout its run. The actor opened up about when she finally felt comfortable in her TV role.
Lilly continued, “I feel like season 3 was a tipping point where I went from ‘panic, figure it out, just shoot from the hip, feel it, go with my gut,’ to ‘I hate it, I don’t ‘ If I don’t want to do it to get me out of here” to “oh, I think if I’m here, I’m stuck and I stay, I have to figure it out.” And it was in season 3, and I really started to learn a trade.
Lilly now plays the lead role Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania opposite Paul Rudd, where she plays Hope van Dyne, the Wasp.
