HALF A CENTURY IS A HOLIDAY!
“Tonight we celebrate the 50th birthday of Bodin’s son, Christian (Jean-Christian Fraiscinet), who was a big loser before the Eternal,” says Vincent Dubois, interpreter for the old boy’s mother, Maria. We assumed that Christian refused to celebrate because all his birthdays had been turned upside down so far. However, Maria considers it necessary to fend off the spell and throw a party. He will call all his friends in the village: the doctor (Michel Drucker), the driver’s license inspector (Jarry), the mayor and his mother (Frédéric Bouraly and Éva Darlan), Monique and Thérèse (Chantal Ladesou and Valérie Mayor), gendarmes (Virginie Hocq and Michaël Gregorio), neighbors (Gil Alma), priest (Gilbert Montagné), postman (Francis Perrin)…”
A WRITTEN PROGRAM
“More than a premiere or a simple variety show, we wanted this show to be scripted,” explains Vincent Dubois. Adds Jean-Christian Fraiscinet, “It’s a play we’re doing on stage, a series of fiction we’ve shot before, and finally a recital.” It’s like we’re writing a movie or a new series. »
EMOTIONAL SERIES IN SONGS
“Claudio Capéo and Christophe Willem sing their own songs and other people’s songs at dinner,” says Vincent Dubois. It is in the nature of the feast to get up and sing unifying songs. They do a duet at the beginning. Bourvil’s Sensitivity, after Maria’s speech for her son’s 50th birthday. We were really cold…”
A “LIFE SIZE” DECOR
“Compared to the first issue, we hired pretty much the same guests like the mayor (Frédéric Bouraly), the oracle (Élodie Poux) or the caterer (Olivier de Benoist), explains Jean-Christian Fraiscinet. And the setting is the highlight of the show on our tour: Bodin’s farm. A “life-size” ornament just like the name of our show. It gives us confidence to play and is part of Bodin’s identity. »
THIRD GALA?
“The role of the vegan caterer, played by Olivier de Benoist, should go to Jamel Debbouze. Unfortunately he had to cancel his visit at the last moment, but there is no doubt he will be there at the third gala,” says Vincent Dubois. “When we’re looking for guests, we don’t necessarily go to people on TV,” continues Jean-Christian Fraiscinet. So why not athletes or politicians? We also dream of owning Gérard Depardieu! »
