EXCLUSIVE: Robert Walak and Alisa Tager will step down as presidents of film and television at AC Studios, Anonymous Content’s independent film and television production studio, when their contracts expire in a few months.

Walak and Tager are expected to continue producing projects for AC Studios under a deal, the terms of which are still being worked out.

There are no details yet on the duo’s replacement, though I hear that UCP veteran Garrett Kemble, who joined Anonymous Content last summer as EVP Development for AC Studios, is reuniting with former UCP president Dawn Olmstead, who now runs Anonymous Content’s CEO is. for greater role given Walak and Tager’s impending retirement.

Former Focus Features president Walak and longtime producer Tager joined AC Studios in 2021, both from primarily film backgrounds. For the past two years, they have overseen the studio’s slate, which has traditionally had a heavy television focus. Recently released projects include series Shantaram with Charlie Hunnam; season two of Random acts of escape; dickinson, The last days of Ptolemy Grey with Samuel L. Jackson and the film swan song with Mahershala Ali.

The company’s upcoming lineup includesIt function Enemy, with Saoirse Ronan, Paul Mescal and Aaron Pierre; limited range east of Eden with Florence Pugh and Zoe Kazan, who will adapt; series bandits of time by Taika Waititi with Lisa Kudrow on Apple TV+; and season four of Real detective with Jodie Foster and Kali Reis on HBO.

“It’s been a real pleasure working with Dawn, David, Alisa and the talented team at AC, but it’s time to start a new partnership with Anonymous,” said Walak. “I am grateful for the opportunity and I look forward to the journey ahead.”

Tager said, “My goal is always to create great things with great people, and I loved the opportunity to do that with the team at Anonymous Content.”

Walak is an industry veteran who joined Focus in 2016 after joining Universal in 2015 as Co-CEO of UPIP. During his tenure at Focus, the studio’s films received 28 Oscar nominations for titles such as Loving, Darkest Hour, Phantom Thread, BlackKkKlansman And Harriet. He defended Downton Abbey‘s film, which became the highest-grossing film in Focus history and spawned a sequel.

Prior to joining Focus, Walak held positions including Managing Director Europe/President Production, Acquisitions and Television at The Weinstein Co. and SVP Acquisitions & Production at Alliance Films/Momentum Pictures.

Tager’s production credits include Arthur Neumann with Colin Firth and Emily Blunt; Guillermo Arriaga’s directorial debut burning plane; Joss Whedon’s feature film debut, Peace; and that of Jean-Jacques Annaud enemy at the gate And Seven years in Tibet.
