RTL rehires Inga Leschek, Netflix Unscripted head in German-speaking Europe

German broadcaster RTL has rehired Inga Leschek at Netflix for the first time as program manager for broadcast and streaming.

Leschek has been Director of Non-Fiction at Netflix in the DACH (Germany, Austria and Switzerland) and CEE region since October 2021, but has now moved to RTL Germany and the streaming service RTL+.

She takes up her new position on March 1 and reports to Stephan Schmitter, RTL Germany’s Director of Programs and Brands

For Leschek, who was managing director of RTL Studios (formerly Norddeich TV) for seven years, this means a return to RTL. She also oversaw 99Pro Media and led the merger with RTL Studios before moving to Netflix. RTL, among other things, rolled under her leadership Ninja warrior and are you the one.

She joined RTL in 2013 from the European production company Tresor TV, of which she was managing director in Austria since 2005 and in Germany since 2010. She also worked at Neue Sentimental Film, the Austrian public broadcaster ORF and the private broadcaster ATV.

“Together with our content teams and partners, we want to regain market leadership for RTL on TV 14-59, continue the strong growth of RTL+ in the face of tough competition from international platforms, and through the unified management of the RTL brand linear and non- linear, our leading position in the further expansion of streaming broadcasting.
