Will there be a third season of Mosquito Beach? Melissa George’s secrets: "there is much more to tell" (AppleTV+)

As Apple TV+ aired the final episode of season 2 of “The Mosquito Coast,” Margot’s commentator, Melissa George, gave an interview to Télé 7 Jours.

Margot has been much less passive this second season. Mosquito Beach. A change that should please you…

Melissa George : I was very happy. Margot is like an onion, with different layers unfolding as you progress. She was discovered as a loving mother and wife. And I was wondering”Why doesn’t it do more?“But then she searches for her mother, gets caught, then has her children kidnapped… We gradually discover the real Margot, whom she is trying to bury.

Is it inspiring for an actress to play such a woman?

Completely ! I think when you spend six months in the place of a character you love, you definitely keep a part of it inside you. The more I comment on Margot, the more I like it: she opposes her husband correctly, she expresses herself… If she existed, she’d probably be my friend.

Did you already know that during the filming of season 1, Margot was responsible for the Fox family escape?

Yes, I was in the secret. That’s a very good thing, because it made me realize that when she’s on the sidelines, letting her husband talk or go on with all this madness, she’s doing it on purpose. Because he couldn’t tell the truth to the children. Knowing this has really helped me in my game.

What was the biggest challenge in this second season?

It was more about the distance between Mexico, where we were shooting, and France, where I lived, rather than acting or script. I must have made a total of twelve round trips, spending half the time with my kids and the other half on set. For the first time in my career, I managed to find the perfect balance between my private life and my professional life. I even came out in better shape. It was a big win for me.

Did your Australian roots help you withstand the Mexican heat and humidity?

I think being Australian helps in any situation (laughs). When you grow up surrounded by the scariest creatures and animals in the world, you fear nothing.

How did you react to reading the last chapter?

During the last two weeks of filming, we were given different scenarios every day. This was great because no one knew what was going to happen.

Can we expect a third season?

I hope there will be a 3rd season, there is a lot more to tell.

Tell us about your collaboration with Justin Theroux…

I love it. She is very funny and charming, her character is the complete opposite of Allie. It was a real pleasure to share this experience in Mexico with him.

Has shooting so many months away from home helped you bond with him and the two young actors Logan Polish and Gabriel Bateman, who are playing your kids?

It was the only family we had there. Our daily life was like.I’ll take a shower to clear the sand of the day I shot in the desert and meet for dinner in 5 minutes.”. We’ve never been apart from each other. And when things got tough, we were there for each other. The episode in the desert was particularly intense but we were all a nice family.

we saw you last year all his life, by Emmanuelle Bercot. Can we imagine seeing you again soon in another French movie or maybe a French TV series?

It’s a French drama, I’m not sure. but i will be back dogs, with Pauline Chalamet (sister of Timothée Chalamet, editor’s note). We play a mother and daughter who are both vampires. After the short film, we made a longer version.
