Robert Griffin III Saw Woman Go Into Labor On Live ESPN Show, But ‘Baby Said Sike’

Robert Griffin III has gone viral on social media again, but this time it was because of his reaction when he found out his wife was in labor.

The ESPN commentator covered the TCU-Michigan Fiesta Bowl for the network Field Pass with The Pat McAfee Show when he got the call. Griffin confused his colleagues when he called in the middle of the game.

“Sorry guys, I have to go. My wife is going to give birth,” he said before running off the field.

However, it turned out to be a false alarm and the “baby decided it wasn’t time to come out yet.” Griffin shared an update on Twitter that he was able to get home in time because the baby wasn’t born yet.

“We’re at home enjoying a different kind of fireworks in 2023. Baby girl should have known mom and dad never spent New Year’s Eve apart. GOD KNEW where I needed to be,” he added.

Griffin’s wife Grete also shared an update with her Twitter followers, tweeting: “Baby said SIKE!!! My hero!!!!”

Grete also shared the story on her Instagram, sharing a glimpse of the viral moment when she called her husband during the live ESPN broadcast.

“Let’s talk about my man @rgiii. I called him while he was on live TV expecting not to be able to get through to him, but I guess if your wife is 9 months pregnant and you call, you pick up the phone no matter what you do, huh? She wrote.

Grete continued: “All I had to do was say the word ‘work’ and this guy stopped yelling BOWL GAME and ran to the car to go to the airport and take a 4 hour flight to get home.” I love you more than life baby and I am so grateful for how you love me, care for me and what you sacrifice for me. My hero!!!”
