If there’s one great plan that never fails, it’s to go to the amusement park. Spend a day with friends or family at Tierra Mítica, Parque Warner in Madrid or Port Aventura, synonymous with maximum funwhether you’re feeling strong or traveling with kids and need to slow down a bit.
On the coast of Tarragona we find Port Aventura (also Ferrari Land and Caribe Acuatiq Park), an unmistakable option that offers us the possibility. traveling in Mexico, China or the Old West without leaving our borders. The themed hotels are very beautiful and the offers they offer to the little ones are very interesting.
Also, the shows are (very) worth it, I personally love the ones that happen on Halloween and Christmas. living in Barcelona I have been to Port Aventura almost every year for as long as I have childhood memories.. I’ve also been as a child as a teenager and as an adult (including my nephew who is now 8), so my experiences are varied and can fit different scenarios.
Then I propose Attractions I always go to when I visit this amusement park and explain why they’re mine favorites Depending on whether you’re going with friends and looking for extreme emotions, your plan is as if you want to have fun with family and kids.
Port Aventura attractions for risk lovers
Shambalha: Best if you’re into speed and extreme heights
The longest roller coaster in Port Aventura isn’t for everyone, we admit, but if you’re one of them. you are not afraid of speed and infarct landings, this may be your best option. Without a doubt, it seems to me the strongest attraction in the entire park and you should make sure before you go upstairs.
The first time you do this, it creates a unique impression (especially the first landing, which is practically vertical) and all my friends say it’s the best attraction in the park if the feeling goes to you.
Furius Baco: Second best if you love speed and pass the ups
Short but very intense, this ride accelerates from 0 to 135 km/h in just 3 seconds. Without even noticing it, it slides through ditches and tunnels almost at ground level. It’s pure adrenaline, to tell the truth, and You should be careful if you have cervical pain as the initial acceleration is not wasted.
Also, be careful if you use contact lenses to see, one of the times I went I was without a lens (imagine the extreme speed it reached). Despite all this, experience ten out of ten.

Train Madrid Atocha – Camp de Tarragona
RRP €47,00 on the boat
Dragon Khan: Third best if you’re excited (but want to avoid endless queues)
Although there has been something new to Port Aventura over the years, Dragon Khan is still a classic of the classics and I never miss a round. With other tough competition, this attraction now has fewer queues (years ago we could have waited more than two hours to go upstairs in the summer).
Great descent of the beginning and eight loops Moving at speeds up to 110 km/h in 69 seconds They promise we’ll go down with almost no air. It’s great to see if you’re ready for the intensity of the Shambalha as it’s a little more ‘soft’. Of the strongest appeals, I think this is the least impressionable (although the first landing always makes me nervous).
Tutuki Splash: fourth best if you want to cool
If strong landings are your thing and you’re not afraid of water, Tutuki Splash may be your summer favourite. Being a great boat we can climb with all our might set to make it clear that we are the ones who shout the loudest.
Yes definitely: you’ll be drenched from top to bottom (If you want to avoid this, opt for a thin plastic raincoat). The minimum height with a companion is 1.20 m.
Hurakan Condor: Worst if you have vertigo
I’m not hiding: free falls are not to my liking. I’ve only been at this attraction once and I will never do it again. I personally believe this It’s not worth spending more than an hour in line to enjoy about 5 seconds of adrenaline (and the urge to vomit).. Unless you’re clearly one of those who go down extremely fast, you can save it.
Stampida: Worst if your cervical muscles aren’t at their best
The Stampida is a wooden roller coaster that isn’t particularly strong or fun. Moreover, creates a very sudden movement that can injure the cervical and backThere is a bar placed only in the hip area, as you do not carry your body tied to the seat. Is it worth the risk? In my opinion no.
Attractions of Port Aventura to enjoy with the family
Kontiki: Best for kids, adults and grandparents
The pirate ship of all life is called Kontiki in Port Aventura. I climbed with both children and adults and the feeling is the same: light butterflies in the stomach when it reaches maximum height. Also, there is usually no queue, a point in its favor.
A great attraction for children aged 6 to 10, because they are not young enough for excessively childish shots and do not have access to intense alternatives. For example my 8 year old nephew loves it. The minimum access height is 1.30 m and a companion is required for minors.

Hotel El Paso – Port Aventura – 1 night
RRP 155,00 € in kayak
Tami Tami: best to start in the world of roller coasters
If your child wants to try the world of roller coasters, Tami Tami is a great option. The only child roller coaster in the park and There are ups and downs to get us excited too.so we can all install it without any problems.
Like Kontiki, this attraction thrill-seeking kids who don’t have access to intense alternatives. The minimum height is 1.30 m for solo climbing and 1.00 m for climbing with an adult.
Kiddie Dragons: Best for the very young

Finally, some eastern dragons in this category that spin at a speed suitable for the little ones in the house. I remember when my niece was about 3 years old she was so excited to spin around this attraction.. No minimum height is required, so they can climb on their own without any problems.

Hotel Caribe – Port Aventura – 1 night
RRP in kayak €144.00
Silver River Flume: Best for a Family Dip
Port Aventura always has “trunks” in it. It’s softer than Tutuki Splash, so it’s a great water ride for the whole family to enjoy with confidence. The last landing may be a “strong” thing for the little one, but my niece has been accepting it without a problem since she was 6 and isn’t a big fan of intense emotions.. You will also get very wet. The minimum height with a companion is 1.00 m.
Los Potrillos: The place that attracts the children the most, because it offers nothing special
Yes mate, the Colts of Port Aventura similar to that of any major fair or other amusement parkso they don’t deserve a stop on your tour.
Waikiki: The Worst “Flying” Kids Chairs I’ve Ever Seen
Waikiki is the name given to the “flying” chairs in this park. I personally love them Light (not even that, unless we’re talking about very young children). They are tucked into a corner and do not offer outstanding views of Port Aventura.. Tip: If you’re in Barcelona and want dynamic chairs that’s worth it, head to Tibidabo.
