Where to start the route?
The Paiva Passageways route is linear, so there are two options to get started:
- The parking lot of Praia fluvial de Areinho. This is how we set out for Espiunca Beach. For many this is the best way, as the beginning is the hardest with many steps and then it gets smoother.
- Espiunca river beach. As we mentioned, the “worst part” is done at the end more than 7km behind.
There are taxi stands, bars and shuttles at each of the points, so returning to the starting point to pick up the car is no problem.
This route was opened in 2015 and has become one of the most exclusive natural destinations in the country. To be able to go (especially in high season such as summer) it is recommended to book in advance through their website.
