A US-based travel influencer has revealed she had to “fight for her life” after being electrocuted in a “freak accident” in Thailand.
Cara Hodgson, 33, a social media star and orthodontist from Los Angeles, California, was “taken to the emergency room” and forced to spend ten days “in and out of hospitals” after she died during a visit to the Asian country. a terrible accident.

“During my trip I had a terrible accident and was electrocuted by high voltage wires. I finally lost consciousness and was taken to the emergency room in Thailand.
“It was the worst ten days of my life: going in and out of hospitals, fighting to regain my strength and fighting for my life. “I feel so lucky to be here today.”
Cara shared a carousel of photos, including one of her lying in a hospital bed and another showing the IV in her arm.
Another shot was a note she wrote to herself on a piece of paper in the hospital: “Today is the first day I can eat and sit up in bed.”
“I’ve been to four hospitals now. i am strong I will get through this. I have to. I have so much more life to live, so much more love to give, so much of the world to see and so many more smiles to make.

She concluded her message with a reflection on what she learned from the experience.

“There are still unanswered questions, but I am so grateful to be here.”
Before the life-threatening incident, Cara – who has 25,000 followers on Instagram and 97,000 on TikTok for documenting her travels and sharing dental hygiene tips – posted a lot of content from her trip to Thailand.
“One day at university you are sitting on the floor together, eating ramen and talking about your dreams to travel. Next time you will enjoy a floating breakfast together in Phuket and plan three more trips next year,” she wrote in a video in which she and her husband Robert enjoy a meal together in a swimming pool.
In another clip, she sat on the edge of a boat in Thailand’s Wang Long Bay and said it “looked straight out of a fantasy book.”
