Flights around the holidays can be incredibly expensive, but this new tool can help travelers save their hard-earned money.

Travel website Kayak has launched a new service to help holidaymakers find the best time to travel to their chosen destination over Christmas and New Year.

When Kayak developed the Best Time to Travel for Christmas and New Year tool, Kayak analyzed more than 8,000 routes worldwide and used historical holiday data to recommend the best time to book a flight at the cheapest price – with ‘ A competitive price example Kayak with a saving of 40 percent.

Using forecast data and easy-to-read price charts, the tool allows travelers to compare prices day by day to find the cheapest travel dates.

It also shows how many days in advance travelers should book to get the best prices for their trip.

To use the tool, travelers can simply enter their desired destination and travel period and receive individual advice at the time of their flight.

For example, Kayak reveals that if a traveler plans a four-day trip from London to Brussels over Christmas, the best time to travel is Christmas Eve and return on December 27.

Additionally, the travel site recommends booking these flights 52 days in advance to get the “absolute cheapest” prices, based on statistics from 2022 where travelers saved up to 13 percent on flights.

If you’re looking for some winter sun, there’s still plenty of time to book cheap flights from London to Bangkok, Thailand, as the best deals are available 21 days before departure, with savings of up to 40 per cent on flight costs.

The best time to travel to Bangkok for a 14-day trip is December 12, returning on Christmas Day.

For those who missed the best deals booking window, Kayak recommends that travelers set up price alerts to track and book flight prices as soon as they see a price that suits them.

It comes after Kayak launched a new tool to find cheap five-star hotel accommodation around the world.
