It is currently being tested so that only select flights leaving Terminal 3 can use it. However, the influencer thinks it “should be a thing at every airport.”

The TikToker explained: “If you’re flying out of London Heathrow soon, you need to know about this so you can avoid the insanely long security lines.”

“I want to share travel to help you travel smarter, and this is the coolest thing I’ve ever seen in an airport.”

“They have a new feature called Timeslot that allows you to plan when you go through security.

“You can select your time slot two to three days before your trip, receive a QR code and then go to the designated area at Heathrow.”

“So don’t forget to use it the next time you fly out of Heathrow. I think we should introduce this at every airport. What do you think?’

Commenters wrote: “It’s interesting, but trying to stay at Heathrow for a period of time is a challenge” and “Very useful trick for once.” Thank you very much!’

Others added: “Omg didn’t know about this! This is a game changer!!’ and yes! I like the idea of a predictable wait time at security.”

It comes after advanced new security scanners were installed at London City Airport and Teesside International Airport in the north of England.

The new CT machines use X-ray technology to create a high-resolution 3D image of the luggage, allowing inspectors to view it from any angle and get a more detailed look at the contents.

This means you don’t have to take anything out of your pocket, including liquids, which should speed up the process tremendously.

The UK government requires all major UK airports to use the technology by June 2024, in time for next year’s summer holidays.
