Toilets with AWESOME views: Business class passengers on the Virgin Atlantic A350 can gaze out at the world while using the toilet – because they have windows

Passengers flying upper class (aka business class) Virgin Atlantic A350-1000 aircraft can view the world from 35,000 feet when they use the lavatory – because the lavatories have windows.

It’s a feature highlighted by captain Chris Pohl, who posted a photo of the eye-catching feature on his Instagram feed.

Australian Chris, who has been flying for 42 years and has more than 25,000 hours of flight time, captioned his clip: “This is the ultimate first class experience that makes these everyday moments truly memorable.”

And he told MailOnline Travel: “I think it’s a really cool feature and I’ve seen passengers posting about it on Instagram.”

One of these passengers is Scottish-American actor and singer John Barrowman.

He posted a video of himself in one of Virgin’s bathrooms with a view and described the concept as “amazing”.

His clip has been viewed nearly 30,000 times.

Delta passengers can also enjoy a view of the restrooms, as bathroom windows are a feature of the airline’s Airbus A220 aircraft.

The airline was the first in the US to take delivery of this new Airbus model.

Chris, who has 384,000 Instagram followers for his @captainchris account, added: “I started my Instagram account during the pandemic to promote aviation and support my local colleagues. My following grew quickly thanks to an attentive (closed) global audience fascinated by the places I flew and how we operated safely during the pandemic.

“As pilots returned to the skies, I was responsible for much of their simulator and flight training and my daily Instagram posts conveyed a positive message that aviation was recovering from the pandemic.”
