Scary moment: Giant alligator BENDS and then climbs through newly installed metal fence at Florida Golf Club

A video camera captured the terrifying moment a giant crocodile had just ripped through a newly erected metal fence at a golf club in Florida.

The incident, captured earlier this week, comes just weeks after an 85-year-old woman was killed by a massive crocodile in the Sunshine State.

A local meteorologist shared the video from the coastal town of Placida, which has more than a million views on Facebook and 50,000 likes on Instagram.

“Watch this big guy bend the aluminum bars and plow through them this week in Placida,” wrote Matt Devitt. Aluminum is considered a light metal, which explains how the massive crocodile was able to get through the fence so easily, Devitt explained fox 35.

But much thinner material is also used to build patio barriers designed to keep the reptiles out of people’s gardens, raising concerns about what would happen if this crocodile encountered such an obstacle.

Florida alligators are known to be more active in the spring and in the past climbing fences, but this alligator clearly wanted a more direct route.

Devitt noted that the person who originally took the video said the alligator ended up working its way all the way to the other side.

“He knows what he’s doing … he’s done it before,” one Facebook commenter joked about Devitt’s post.

“That’s why in Florida, if there’s a body of water, there’s an alligator in it!” Stay healthy people!” reads another on Instagram.

The state is home to approximately 1.3 million alligators, and when they are over four feet long, they are considered a threat to humans.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission removed four of the reptiles from the lakes of the gated Spanish Lakes Fairways communities after 85-year-old Gloria Serge died in a vicious attack.

She was mauled by the 10-foot alligator named Henry while trying to save her beloved dog Trooper from the beast.

Henry was later captured and killed, while three other reptiles were subsequently captured by conservationists and removed from the series of interconnected lakes.

To save Gloria, a terrified neighbor called 911 after seeing the alligator eating lunch after chasing her 100 feet.

Her dog Trooper survived the attack and the reptile was caught and euthanized after her death.

Judy Murray, Gloria’s neighbor, told TMZ she saw authorities remove all the alligators from the community’s lakes.

But she’s not sure where the alligators were taken after they were removed, with some photos showing the animals being bound and gagged before officials moved them on.

There are five to six lakes in the community, and Judy said she’s not usually afraid of alligators.

She added that Gloria may have had a “senior moment” when she decided to walk along the waterfront with Trooper — with the pup returning to her family.

Jay Mandelker, president of Spain’s Lakes Fairways HOA, said the alligators were removed to calm residents’ nervous fears.

He told TCPalm: “They did this to address any concerns and make us aware of the precautions we need to take in relation to wildlife, especially alligators.

The 85-year-old tried to get the dog away from the crocodile’s jaws, but the crocodile grabbed her instead and was seen dragging her into the lake.

Her terrified neighbor Carole Thomas, 76, told Inside Edition she tried to help the woman while calling 911.

She added: “It’s terrible for her family. It’s just awful, awful. And her friends, I spoke to some of her friends yesterday who were devastated.’

Her body was later recovered from the lake.

Local residents told Inside Edition the alligator was a fixture in the neighborhood and nicknamed her Henry.

Florida authorities are warning residents not to walk their pets near dams in area lakes.

Gloria is the third victim killed by an alligator in Florida since last July.
