A video of the storm simulation room at QC Termemilano Spa in Milan has gone viral
Spas are usually quiet places, but an Italian wellness retreat is turning that idea on its head — and it’s making waves on TikTok.
The QC Termemilano spa in Milan features a cinematic billiards room that simulates a thunderstorm, complete with dramatic stormy sound effects.
When British bloggers Henry Purchase and Robyn Miller posted a video of the strangely immersive experience on TikTok, it quickly went viral, garnering a whopping five million likes so far.
In the clip, filmed by Robyn, Henry can be seen with other swimmers diving into the pool as a sprinkler system sprays them with water to simulate downpours and lightning bolts, and storm clouds fill the screens along the walls.
Henry, 25, and Robyn, 24, who run travel website A Couple Things to Do, told MailOnline Travel: “We didn’t know what to expect when we went because there wasn’t much online, but then we arrived, it was better than we could have imagined.’

The couple add: “We were surprised by the value for money – we had full access to the spa with lunch and drinks for less than £44 (€50) per person.”
Reactions to the TikTok clip, which has more than 24,000 comments and 112,000 shares, have been mixed.
Many users have insisted on trying the storm sim themselves, calling the sound of pouring rain “relaxing”, while others are less enthusiastic.
“This would be my dream,” TikTok user Kay wrote.
While user Tristan Woods wrote, “It looks funny and traumatic at the same time.”
“Looks like pure chaos,” added TikToker “Lowkeybro.”
Housed in an Art Nouveau complex in the heart of the Italian city, the spa also features saunas, hot tubs, a waterfall room and an outdoor pool.
The spa bills itself as a “multi-sensory experience,” with basic access including a bathrobe, a towel, a pair of slippers and an “exclusive” aperitif.
Henry and Robyn note, “You can add massages and treatments if you like, but we found we had plenty to do in the time we were there.”

Henry and Robyn, who run the travel website A Couple Things to Do, say the spa “was better than we could have imagined.”
The couple recommends going for the “wellness lunch” at the spa, saying, “They have an all-you-can-eat buffet for a full hour with hot and cold dishes, desserts and breads.. . you can help yourself with anything.” Wine of your choice.” and beer on tap.”
Overall, the travel bloggers consider the spa a must for those visiting Milan on a budget.

QC Termemilano is part of an Italian spa chain that started in the 1980s, with other spas opening in places like Rome, Turin and New York.
