An American tourist who had never tried British food was left in disbelief after trying a Greggs sausage roll – and giving it a 9.8/10.
David Turek, 26, from Chesapeake, Virginia, documented eating the classic British meal for the first time, and his reaction to the savory pastry snack is priceless.
A video shows David taking the meat-filled dough out of the classic paper bag and his eyes light up as he takes a bite.
“Holy shit!” he says, shaking his head in disbelief before adding, “9.8 out of 10, that’s pretty damn good.”
David recorded videos of himself also tasting bacon, fish and chips and rusks, much to the delight of Brits online.
Many commented on his videos saying they wished they could relive the moment they first tried these dishes.
One commented: “This is EXACTLY the reaction I’ve been waiting for,” while another added: “Because of you, we’re all experiencing our first taste again.”

“I thought it would be fun to do the same but try British food.
“My favorite British meal so far, if I’m strictly British I’d say fish and chips.
“This meal was absolutely sensational, and I’ve never had anything like it in the United States.”
David was also surprised when he tried his first Sunday roast.
He researched the food and wasn’t thrilled because it was “sauce-drenched food that didn’t sound that good.”

David was also surprised when he tasted his first Sunday roast, which he didn’t expect to be so good after discovering it was drenched in gravy.

Although he enjoyed the dumplings, his favorite British meal to date was classic fish and chips for main course
But after trying it at a local pub in Wales, he was surprised by the traditional meal.
David thinks the quality of food in the UK is much better than across the pond, but he draws the line at Marmite and Black Pudding.
“The worst British food I’ve ever had is somewhere between marmite and black pudding,” he said.
“It makes me very sick just thinking about it, especially Marmite.”
